PR Log (Press Release) –
Dec 03, 2009 – The Big 12 Championship has teamed up with American Transfers & Tours to provide all of the event transportation for hundreds of people including the teams, bands and VIPs during the 2009 Big 12 Championship. ATT will handle all of the complex issues related to transportation at the premier event, which be held Saturday, December 5, 2009, at the new Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
"This is one of the most exciting, highly anticipated college football events of the season," noted American Transfers & Tours president Bill Hinds. "With 12 premier football teams competing for their shot at Pasadena, it will be sure to draw tens of thousands of fans from across the Midwest. And with the large number of teams, NCAA personnel and staff descending on North Texas, we're prepared to ensure they have a seamless transportation experience. This will be the tenth time we've supported the Big 12 Championship and consider it an honor to work with a world-class organization like the NCAA.”
The new Cowboys Stadium in Arlington will be the scene for the 2009 Big 12 Championship Game. Completed in May 2009, at a cost of $1.15 billion, Cowboys Stadium is the most expensive sports venue ever built and seats 80,000, but can expanded to 110,000 with the use of standing areas. Each year the Big 12 brings thousands of college football fans to North Texas and this year’s events threatened to create an array of complexity at the new venue.
“The Big 12 Games present us with a very exciting opportunity to show our expertise in handling transportation for large sporting events,” added Debbi Travis, operations director for American Transfers & Tours. “We'll manage hundreds of people and move over 35 buses and shuttles to make sure the athletes and staff participating in the Big 12 have a great experience coming and going to the games."
